Let’s Make Choosing Stanchions & Ropes Simple and Fast!

First a Stanchion!

We have two stanchion ranges, the premium Elegance and the economy RopeMaster. Elegance stanchions are made with heavy gauge steel and a cast iron base. RopeMasters are less durable than Elegance but offer the sophistication of a traditional rope stanchion at an affordable price.

Both models come with a choice of three finials (tops), the elegant ball, traditional crown or contemporary flat. Each top can be matched with one of two bases, the profile or for a more traditional look the dome. Let’s look at two of our most popular models:

Elegance Ball Top (Shown in Polished Brass with a Dome Base)

This is our most prestigious stanchion and is the product of choice for the most sophisticated environments. Fitted with a full circumference floor protector and forged rope loop this stanchion is both elegant and durable.

RopeMaster Crown Top (Shown in Polished Stainless Steel)

The Crown Top is the classic rope stanchion instantly recognizable from countless red carpet events around the world. The classic look of the Crown model makes this our most popular economy model.

Now Select a Rope

rope choices
We have five styles of rope each available in a wide variety of colors. With some the choice is just about the look and feel that fits your environment the best but for others there is a little technical information that must be considered.

First, will you be using the ropes indoors or outside? For full time outdoor use, you must use Polypropylene rope as this is the only option that is waterproof and UV resistant.

Second, premium or economy. Just like the stanchions we have ropes to suit your budget. Premium ropes have a cotton core that ensures the rope drapes evenly and is very durable.

Economy ropes are made from high density foam with a chain core which provides better draping characteristic than other ropes in this price category but will not stand up to wear and tear as well as a cotton core rope.

Velour (Velvet) Rope

This is the iconic stanchion rope, featuring the heavy-duty cotton core construction that provides smooth even drape between stanchions. The plush velour cover is available in a choice of seven colors.

Lastly Choose a Rope End

rope ends
Rope ends connect the rope to the stanchion. There are two basic types the snap end and the hook end. The snap end is the most common, this has a spring loaded ‘trigger’ that opens the hook and then allows it to snap shut when the trigger is released. This locks the rope onto the stanchion. Snap ends are available in standard and heavy-duty form, and we strongly recommend the heavy-duty option for ropes that will be used in heavily trafficked areas such as hotel lobby queues. When the rope end is going to be detached frequently such a nightclub entrance a hook end may be more convenient. This is simply and open hook so there is no need to use a trigger to open and close it. The hook end only comes in a heavy-duty version and is the most robust rope end.

Don’t Forget the Customizing Options

Ropes and stanchions are all about style. How they look plays an important part in the décor of the environment they are used in. All our stanchions and rope ends are available in standard finishes of black, polished and satin stainless (chrome) and polished and satin brass. But you can transform your stanchions to something truly unique with one of our Specialty Finishes. These are custom made metal plate finishes (like chrome) available in five sophisticated colors – Statuary Bronze, Pewter Nickel, English Antique (antique brass) and Antique Copper.
